Introduced to: Every continent in the world except Antarctica. While the Norway Rat is native to China’s forests, it now prefers living near densely populated urban environments.

  Norway rats are the ultimate pests. They host loads of diseases, including the plague, and can infest those bitten with a sickness known as “Rat Bite Fever.” Norway rats also destroy billions of dollars worth of crops and food stores each year! As if that weren’t enough, they also cause fires by chewing electrical wires in buildings… Nice rat…  
   
  An average female Norway Rat can produce up to 70 young per year!
